BECKY CATER

Business owner and chaperone

I first became interested in training and caring for dogs when my family picked up our Miniature Schnauzer around 9 years ago. I started with the basics and since then have taken part in obedience, agility, scent work, gun dog training, trick training and have completed the Kennel Club Bronze, Silver and Gold obedience awards.

After taking a break from my day job as a primary school teacher, I began volunteering at a friend's dog training academy (around 7 years ago), developing my skills and knowledge to the point where I started teaching classes myself. Then, 4 years ago I took the plunge, gave up my job as a teacher and got a job working for a large dog charity where I ran puppy, adolescent, adult and rescue dog training classes.

I am now a full member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers, only achieved through using kind, fair and effective training methods. I am fully-insured for pet sitting, walking, taxi services and training. I also hold a human and pet first aid certificate. I continue to build on my knowledge of all things dog by attending courses, seminars, reading books and training our working cocker spaniel Bolt. I continue to run training classes each week as well as dog walk for clients on a daily basis.
